Garden timber takes the worst punishment of any exterior surface, UV, rain, freeze-thaw, ground contact and biological growth. Cheap creosote substitutes last a single season. Done properly, the same fence can look smart for five years before needing a refresh.
We paint, stain and finish exterior timber across Bracknell, Ascot, Wokingham, Reading and the wider Berkshire area: close-board and feather-edge fence panels, post-and-rail fencing, summerhouses, garden offices, log cabins, pergolas, garden gates, raised planters and bespoke garden joinery.
Most homeowners book us in late spring or early summer when last year's untreated panels have weathered to grey, or when a new fence has been installed and needs sealing before its first winter. We also routinely work on garden offices and summerhouses where the original factory finish has faded.
The unglamorous truth is that fence and garden timber finishing fails because of the product, not the labour. A solvent-based fence dip looks good for a season and then bleaches; a proper UV-rated stain or paint with a breathable formulation lasts four to five times longer for around the same total cost per year.
